Bedside Nursing
Support for patients admitted to hospital when their families cannot stay with them throughout the day or night — so your loved one is never without someone by their side.
A Trusted Presence at the Hospital Bedside, Day or Night
When a loved one is admitted to hospital, families are often stretched thin — juggling work, children and travel, or living in another city or country altogether. Yet patients in hospital frequently need someone by their side: to help them eat, to keep them comfortable, to notice when something isn't right, and simply to make sure they are not alone.
Our bedside nurses and attendants stay with the patient during the hours you choose. They help with basic daily needs, keep watch for changes in the patient's condition, and act as a calm link between the patient, the ward staff and the family — passing on relevant observations so that nothing is missed.
Bedside support works alongside the hospital's own medical team. We do not replace ward nurses or doctors; we make sure your loved one has consistent, attentive company and that you are kept informed.
Who it's for

How We Care for Your Loved One
Every care plan is tailored to the patient. These are the areas of support most families ask us for.
Day & Night Shifts
Flexible cover for the hours you need most — daytime, night-time, overnight or around the clock for the length of the admission.
Patient Observation
Staying close to the patient, watching for changes in comfort, breathing, behaviour or alertness, and alerting the ward team straight away when needed.
Help With Daily Needs
Assistance with eating, drinking, washing, changing and getting to the bathroom safely, so the patient's basic needs are met on time.
Fall & Safety Watch
Extra care for patients who are frail, drowsy or confused, helping to reduce the risk of falls and accidents during the night.
Comfort & Companionship
A reassuring, familiar face who talks with the patient, helps them settle and makes a hospital stay feel less lonely and frightening.
Family Updates
Reporting relevant observations to the family and appropriate healthcare team, so everyone has an accurate picture of the patient's day.

What a Bedside Shift Looks Like
Handover
The nurse or attendant arrives, introduces themselves to the patient and ward staff, and receives a handover from the family or previous shift.
Settling the Patient
The patient is helped to get comfortable — positioning, hygiene, a drink or a meal — and their immediate needs are checked.
Watching Through the Shift
The patient is observed throughout, with any changes reported to the ward team and noted for the family.
Shift Report
At the end of the shift, the family receives a summary of how the patient did and anything the doctors said.

Keeping You Informed, Wherever You Are
Whether you live around the corner or on the other side of the world, you will always know how your loved one is doing.
Our bedside staff work alongside, and follow the rules of, the hospital where the patient is admitted. Medical decisions and treatment remain the responsibility of the hospital's doctors and nurses.
